Birch Aquarium and La Jolla Beach

Another fun filled Saturday of site seeing! Today we went to the Birch Aquarium in San Diego and La Jolla Beach.

Preston's Room

We are almost done and thought we would share some pics of Preston's Room!! We have almost everything ready...just waiting on Preston! :)

 I found so much stuff at Michael's for cheap! The PSB wooden letters and baskets were all under $10!

 This is mine and Jared's favorite little robe from my Granny! The closet is full of clothes...only 0-3 months and he has about 4 baskets full of onesies and sleepers!

Dana Point Harbor and San Clemente Beach

Our apartment complex put on a little tour around some places. We had an awesome time and got burnt faces! We got some great ideas of things to do when visitors come!

The San Clemente Beach.  Weather was 75 degrees on the beach and the water temperature was 66 degrees, a little chilly for swimming!

The next tide came up and soaked my pants, we both didn't come too prepared for the beach! 

 

Although it looks overcast, this is just the thin marine layer coming off the ocean and the sun was out most of the time!

We were just standing there and this pelican flew up and stood about a foot from me...I screamed a little when it was flying towards me!

 

A guy caught this flat-bottomed shark at the end of the pier, it weighed about 40 lbs.!

Sigh of Relief

Today was a great day...not only did I get to go shopping for more clothes for Preston (Jared approved this shopping trip!!!), we had an ultrasound to check on him and he is great! We went to the doctor on Tuesday and I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension (high blood pressure during pregnancy). In some cases this can cause the baby to not get enough fluid and blood and can stunt growth and make pregnancy high risk. Fortunately, my blood pressure hasn't effected him and we are taking precautionary measures to make sure it doesn't. He is about 4.7 lbs already! The ultrasound tech said that it hardly ever happens, but his measurements and weight are exactly on for 32 weeks/6 days (He said most babies average out to about plus or minus a week of the actual gestational age).  Preston was moving around and covering his face, so we didn't get that many profile shots, but I did add one that we got. You can see he's going to have big lips like everyone else in our family!!!!! :) We will keep everyone updated on what's going on. I will be going in 2 weeks for a non-stress test to make sure he's getting everything he needs. So far, the doc said everything looks great! No more hotdogs though (I was eating them for lunch and dinner...not good since the sodium is crazy high) :(...but of course, Preston is worth it! 

In other news, Jared got a new phone this week at work, so now he has caller ID in his office! :)  He's still working hard and taking good care of things out here in Cali!

Trying this out!

Hey everyone! After talking to family and friends, we decided to create a blog to keep everyone up-to-date on what's going on at the Baird household! We had an amazing time at home and wish we could have stayed longer. We had a blast at Marc and Tara's wedding!! I didn't even realize that I didn't take one picture, even though I had my camera in my purse. It was so much fun! Tara looked like a model straight out of a wedding magazine! Jared was happy he got to do the Bernie at the wedding too. What a great tradition our friends have of doing a crazy dance at the wedding!  It's great memories like this that make us wish we could be at home more often! We are so blessed to have such a great family and friends that are pretty much our family too! Well, I'm off to prop my feet today...apparently flying and pregnancy make for swollen limbs! I have kankles, feet that look like they weigh 20 lbs each, and toes that look like Vienna sausages! I would post the pic I took, but I'm sickened by it!!!! The swelling is going down and I have ankles again, so I'm happy! ;) Miss and love you all!
